Ingredients

Breakfast Biscuits

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

  • 2 1/2 cups aged white cheddar, grated

  • 7 ULTIMATE™ Maple Lodge Chicken Breakfast Sausages, cooked and sliced

  • 3/4 cup chives, finely sliced

  • Maldon salt, for finishing

  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold

  • Step 1

    Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt to a food processor. Pulse until evenly distributed.

  • Step 2

    Add cubed, cold butter to food processor. Pulse until coarse crumbs achieved.

  • Step 3

    Transfer mixture to a large bowl, slowly drizzle in 1 cup cold buttermilk. Add grated aged cheddar, sliced sausages and sliced chives. Mix until combined with a wooden spoon.

  • Step 4

    Turn out onto lightly floured surface. Pat down into 1"-inch thick square. Cut into 4 pieces, stack on top of one another and with a rolling pin, roll out into a 1"-inch thick rectangle.

  • Step 5

    Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • Step 6

    Cut rectangle into 8 square pieces. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place biscuits onto sheet spaced out from one another. Freeze for 10 minutes.

  • Step 7

    Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with Maldon salt.

  • Step 8

    Place baking sheet into oven and bake for 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown on top.
