This East York restaurant serves up one dollar tacos twice a week

Taco Tuesdays have been a hit for years, but an East York restaurant has made it a staple for their business. Offering tacos for a dollar not once, but twice a week, El sazón de la Tía Flor has reinvented the popular weekly celebration for the better.

For many, it doesn't get much better than enjoying tacos, one of the most popular dishes in North America, every Tuesday––the dish can be made relatively quick and easy, and the outcome is almost always delicious. El sazón de la Tía Flor has been working hard to make it more affordable and accessible for taco lovers, so that they can make every taco celebration as simple and enjoyable as possible.

After all, a loonie is all that it takes to indulge in an authentic taco every Tuesday, and Wednesday, at El sazón.

"Food in Mexico is full of tradition, a tradition that has been passed on from generation to generation for centuries. And this was not something that I just wanted to leave behind when I came to Toronto, but rather, something I wanted to share with my new city and home," El sazón's owner says.

When El sazón opened, the goal was always to share that heritage and rich culture with the city, as authentically and affordable as possible.

"I wanted to provide the city's diners with the most authentic experience possible, all while making it accessible and convenient. So, by serving the dish at a dollar, I was able to share my Mexican heritage with a wider audience."

In addition to their dollar tacos, the restaurant also offers six microwaveable meals for $60 that can be consumed throughout the week. As part of a program called "Meal-Prep Mondays", El sazón aims to provide Toronto's diners with yet another authentic and easy experience possible, whether they're dining in the restaurant or at home.

On top of that, customers have complete freedom at El sazón––with selections ranging from birria tacos to carnitas offered by the kilogram, the possibilities are nearly endless.

Find them at 1549 O'Connor Drive on Monday through to Wednesday at 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday through to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Just make sure to get there early so you can get your tacos before the crowds arrive.
