Café Boulud and Cheese Boutique collaborate on exclusive afternoon tea

It’s time to don your finest, raise your pinkies in the air, and dig into a new twist on the standard afternoon tea experience.

This weekend, from July 16 through to July 18, the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto invites you to indulge in a series of meticulous morsels imbued with cheese at every turn. Created in collaboration with Cheese Boutique, this one-of-a-kind menu is ideal for turophiles and those curious to explore the breadth and versatility of this ever-popular food.

The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is recognized for its regular afternoon tea service—where gorgeous ingredients are expertly combined and presented in exceptionally elegant ways. A collaboration with one of the city’s original, and still most thrilling, gourmet shops seems heaven-sent.

Café Boulud's chef de cuisine Nicholas Trosien created the menu for this weekend, alongside maître fromager, or cheese master, and Cheese Boutique’s owner and operator, Afrim Pristine.

“It is always a pleasure working with Café Boulud and Four Seasons Hotel Toronto,” says Pristine of the partnership. “We are always looking for new experiences to offer our guests and this is a perfect marriage of both our specialties.”

Walnut & Morbier tartlette

On the menu, guests will find a progression of cheese-laced dishes, from savoury to sweet. Begin with asparagus vol-au-vent with Selle-Sur-Cher, a soft, goat’s milk cheese from France. From there, move on to smoked salmon quiche, mini croque madame, walnut and Morbier tartlette, and more.

Mini Croque Madame

Sweets include Bleu Elizabeth cheese & chocolate mille feuille, with 72 per cent Araguani chocolate cremeux, strawberry and balsamic cheesecake, with Cheese Boutique's cream cheese mousse and Greek feta panna cotta with blueberry mousse. Young Mimolette and Dutch Twilight and fig scones, served with apricot jam, Sheldon Creek clotted cream and lavender honey round out the cheese-forward menu.

Barrel Aged Greek Feta & Blueberries

Surprise the cheese-lover in your life, or treat yourself, to this sumptuous spread. Just be sure to plan ahead, as each order must be placed at least 24 hours in advance for pick-up at 60 Yorkville Avenue.
