CeaseCake is Toronto's newest spot for vegan cheesecake perfection

Sweet-toothed vegans take note. There’s a new spot in town baking up an array of 100% plant-based, 100% gluten-free and 100% delicious cheesecakes, cookies and more, sure to satisfy. With a focus on cruelty-free desserts, CeaseCake offers a range of products for special occasions or simple, everyday feasting.

Launched last summer by entrepreneur and York University student Andrew Muharib, CeaseCake was inspired by what Muharib calls “a massive scarcity in the availability of legitimate vegan desserts that use … meticulously hand-picked ingredients,” in the city’s core. With head baker Claudia Li, Muharib set out to create a line of eye-catching, quality vegan desserts that come at affordable prices. Among other ingredients, the company uses “cashews, coconut milk, coconut cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and in-house made vegan butter,” says Muharib. “[M]any of our ingredients are created in-house to ensure the utmost quality, care, and respect.”

Though the company makes an impressive lineup of cookies, including some crave-worthy jam- and chocolate-filled options, cheesecake is CeaseCake’s real draw, with signature flavours often selling out. From a s’mores cheesecake to pistachio, carrot with apricot and pretzels, and coconut matcha, there’s a creative cake on the menu you’re bound to love. If not? The company will customize any of their cheesecakes, mini cheesecakes or cookies to suit your particular yen. Choose a flavour and toppings, and your creation will be made to order. Products can also be made keto on request.

CeaseCake products are available for pre-order pickup through the company website and with three pickup locations in the GTA, getting these plant-based pastries into the hands of local vegans couldn’t be easier.
