To the delight of Toronto’s Italian-food-fanatics, Eataly Toronto opened last November, bringing the best of “the boot” to happy home cooks and diners across the city. This February, Trattoria Milano, offering a taste of Northern Italy, joined Eataly’s other in-house eateries. For perfect quarantine comfort, its menu of hearty classics, now available for pickup on Tock, can’t be beat.

Since the coronavirus shutdown on March 16, Eataly Toronto has remained open for daily grocery shopping with many items also available for delivery through Uber Eats. With its sit-down spots shuttered, though, many of Eataly’s popular restaurant dishes have been out of reach. Now, as Trattoria Milano joins Tock, diners have the opportunity to sample casual fine Italian fare through ready-to-eat, four-course meals. Available for pickup every Friday to Sunday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., Trattoria Milano’s menu, which changes weekly, feature an antipasto, primo, secondo and dolce for $65 per person. An introductory meal of spinach and ricotta malfatti and ossobuco with saffron risotto and gremolata, will easily transport diners to Italy’s capital of style.
Malfatti: hand-rolled spinach and ricotta dumplings, shiitake mushrooms, asparagus and sage.
L'Ossobuco: braised Montauk Farms veal shank, Gli Aironi saffron risotto and gremolata.
As nothing complements an Italian feast quite like a fine Italian beverage, diners may add select cocktails or bottles of red, white, rosé or sparkling wine to their Tock order.
