If you’re mourning this season’s lack of holiday fêtes, you’ll want to mark Toronto’s newest seasonal event on your calendar as soon as possible. Opening this Saturday, the West End Winter Market promises enough winter-themed activities, goodies, sights and sounds to assuage your hunger for all things holiday.
In its first year, the West End Winter Market will bring a winter wonderland feel to 23 Noble Street in Parkdale. Highlights of the event are a maze built from more than 100 Christmas trees, festive sweet and savoury treats from top local vendors, including Smorgasbites, a picturesque ice rink, photo packages and s’mores fire pits.
The “socially-distanced holiday extravaganza” also promises to put safety first. The event’s safety plan includes mandatory masks for guests and staff, regular sanitization of touch points, a limited number of guests on-site at any given time and more.
Tickets for 2-hour windows are available through Tock at three different price points. Day tickets are encouraged for families and are $15 per person. To enter between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., tickets are $12.50 for children and $28.50 for adults. Twilight tickets, reserved for couples and adults, are $20. Children 5 and under are free.
Grab a hot chocolate or mulled wine and wander through the West End Winter Market’s twinkling Christmas forest. If there’s anything that can whisk you away from reality, even if only for a while, this is probably it.
