If you’re the type who eats dessert first, you’ll want to line up early for Hawker’s dessert tasting, taking place on September 29. With pickup at Oyster Boy, the five-course takeaway tasting is available from 4 p.m. until the treats run out.
Launched this summer, Hawker is a pastry business created by Farzam Fallah and Louis Lim, a duo known for the fantastical, whimsical pastry creations they made as pastry chefs at Richmond Station. Recently, Hawker gained popularity thanks to a monthly dessert popup held at Hailed Coffee.
Taking things one, or a few, steps further, the Hawker team has now announced a one-time event is happening next week. The menu, an ode to summer stone fruit, will feature five courses, each one inspired by Ontario’s gorgeous harvest.
So far, the team has revealed a few of the menu items on Instagram. Course one will feature peaches with toasted cedar and white chocolate ganache, pink peppercorn sponge and sweet furikake and miso caramel. A second course of saffron cheesecake with brown butter and chickpea crumble, candied coriander seeds, pistachio, apricots and dried roses sounds like an equally-compelling mix we can’t wait to wrap our lips around.
Not only are there three more courses to sweeten the deal, each order includes two bubble teas, Just Peachy and Jasmine, from Pluck Teas.
Unless you have a serious sweet tooth, you’ll want to partner up for this all-out dessert feast. For $35 per order, payable by credit card on location, you won’t find a sweeter deal in town.
