There are plenty of things to scream about lately but, if you want to give your shrieks a positive spin, Ice Cream Fest is the place to be. Taking place this weekend at Scarborough Town Centre, the festival will feature frozen treats from a roster of your favourite spots. "Expect new special flavours," said the organizers in an Instagram post earlier this month. There'll be "outrageous creations, free samplings, live entertainment and a food market that'll blow your mind."
Visitors can expect sweets from Fugo Desserts, Eva's Original Chimneys, Tala, Pogo Waffles and more. For those looking to temper their sugar rush, Gogi, Jerk Brothers and other food trucks will be on-site serving up savoury, weekend-appropriate bites.
Organized by Street Eats Market, the same people behind Toronto's Drive-Thru Food Truck Festival, which took place in June, this is the city's first Ice Cream Fest and is sure to bring in crowds. The festival will take place outdoors, with strict social distancing measures in place. Masks are mandatory and sanitizer will be provided. Best of all? Admission is free for the duration of the festival, scheduled to take place from August 15-16, from 12-8 p.m.
