Fuel your new year’s nutrition goals with hummus from one of the city’s newest small businesses. Fresh, made solely with Canadian chickpeas and available in four flavours, Jaffa Laffa hummus, brings the taste of Israel to any lockdown meal.

Owned and operated by George Brown College alum Steven Berkun-Drevnig, Jaffa Laffa was inspired by a pre-pandemic trip to the Middle East. Upon returning, Berkun-Drevnig suddenly had an “obsession to find the best hummus back home in Toronto.” Dissatisfied with the hummus he found available in the city, Berkun-Drevnig set out to make his own. After months of testing ingredients and recipes, Berkin-Drevnig found the perfect combination for his authentic creations, which he launched last fall.

Working out of a ghost kitchen, Berkun-Drevnig currently offers four flavours of vegan, gluten-and soy-free hummus, including classic, roasted garlic, roasted red pepper and masabacha, which includes whole chickpeas. Berkun-Drevnig also makes vegan and gluten-free falafel, available in packs of 30, 45 or 55.

All items are available to order online. Orders placed before Monday at 12 p.m. are delivered the same week between Thursday and Saturday.
