KFC’s Double Down sandwich is now available in Toronto again for a limited time.

The highly-popular “bunless” sandwich from KFC is making a triumphant return, over a decade after its initial launch in Canada. The Double Down highlights crispy bacon, Canadian-made Monterey Jack cheese and KFC’s “finger-lickin’ good” sauce, which are sandwiched between two juicy and crispy chicken fillets.

By way of popular demand, the iconic sandwich is now available at all KFC locations in Canada and through popular online delivery services.

The Double Down was first unleashed in Canada in October 2010 and was met with an astounding amount of success, selling over 250,000 Double Downs in the first two weeks. The sandwich was first launched in the US in April 2010, reaching about 10 million sandwiches sold in the first month of its release.

Since then, the Double Down has made sporadic appearances across the globe through different renditions. Korea and New Zealand had the Zinger Double Down––which added a beef burger in the mix––a French style Black Pepper version in France and even a Double Down Dog, which featured a hot dog wrapped in a chicken fillet.

In 2018, KFC released a special edition Waffle Double Down specific for Canada, which featured a Belgian waffle doused in maple-flavoured aioli and tucked between two golden chicken fillets. The Waffle Double Down would be the last time Canada had a glimpse at the famous breadless sandwich, until now.

The Double Down is officially back at KFC locations across Canada from Oct. 4 until Nov. 7. You can order from any location, or through KFC’s website and popular food delivery apps SkipTheDishes and Uber Eats.

You’ll want to grab one now, before the Double Down disappears from Canada for another decade.
