Even in quarantine, there are reasons to celebrate. Be it a birthday, Mother’s Day, Friday; they’re all significant and deserve a properly-festive feast. When takeout burgers and fries just won’t cut it, you now have a tempting new option that’ll make any occasion feel extra special. Launched on May 6th, Edulis at Home brings one of the city’s most beloved neighbourhood boîtes to your table.
Opened in 2012 by husband and wife team Michael Caballo and Toby Nemeth, Edulis, Latin for “edible,” is a warm, comfortable, authentic spot that happens to produce some of the most consistently delightful, seasonal cuisine in the city, if not the country. Since opening, Edulis has accumulated accolades including “Canada’s Best New Restaurant,” in 2012 and a recurring spot on “Canada’s 100 Best” restaurant list.
With Edulis at Home, available for order via @tockhq, diners can order a once-a-week seasonal tasting menu for weekend pickup. With items including Pâté en Croute of Duck, Foie and Pistachio and Chicken Marbella with Prunes and Capers, it’s no wonder the first week’s menu sold out in a day.
For week two’s "picnic for pickup," the team created Saucisson Lyonnais with Frisée and Heartnut Gremolata alongside Braised Beef Cheek with Wood Roasted Peppers and more. With the option to add on a bottle of wine, cheese from Montforte Dairy or bags of organic produce, Edulis at Home may soon become your favourite one-stop-shop.
