Le Cheeseburger Week kicks off today

Before you kiss summer goodbye, celebrate the season with a burger -- summer's quintessential dish. Starting September 1, restaurants across the city are kicking off Le Cheeseburger Week to raise money for charity and, less vital but undeniably fun, to uncover Canada’s finest burgers.

Founded in Montreal in 2011, Burger Week has morphed into a nation-wide event that sees select restaurants celebrating the beloved burger. Organizers choose restaurants to create a unique burger specifically for the event. Diners are then asked to vote for their faves on the Burger Week website.

In an exciting twist this year, “cheese” has been added to the event’s official 2020 name. With Saputo as the event's official partner this year, it’s no surprise that ooey-gooey goodness will factor heavily into menu items this time around.

Running from September 1 to 7, Le Cheeseburger Week promises some spectacularly cheesy odes to the ever-popular burger. With a portion of sales going to United Way, there’s no reason not to dig in.
