If you're a Toronto-based chef (or alternatively, a Canadian chef with an Ontario address who can travel to Toronto for filming), CW and 3Bird media have paired together to create a new cooking show, Recipe For Disaster, where professional chefs showcase their skills in fantastical worlds while dealing with potential disasters.
Recipe For Disaster wants to break the traditional mould of food competition shows by adding another layer of "irresistibly-fun" complexity. "We know that chefs face a multitude of challenges and potential disasters in a professional kitchen and Recipe For Disaster takes that reality to new heights; it's MasterChef meets Wipe Out."
The show is being filmed at a studio in Toronto in November and December, and if you're a creative cook with some sort of formal culinary background that yearns to be in the spotlight, they are still actively hunting for their team of chefs. They are casting primarily in the Toronto area, although anyone who can travel to Toronto is welcome to apply as long as they are a Canadian citizen and have an Ontario address.
"There are no specific qualifications, training, or certifications required. Chefs at any stage of their career are welcome as long as they are creative, talented, and game to have some fun in the Recipe For Disaster kitchen! There's a short application to fill out at recipefordisaster.ca and if selected for an interview, someone from our casting team will reach out. Applications will remain open for a couple of weeks and the commitment is for just one day of filming."
The 13-episode series will air on The CW Network sometime next year, so if you're interested in being on Recipe for Disaster, please apply ASAP on recipefordisaster.ca
