November may not be rife with celebrations, but that’s only for those who don’t take part in the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, or La Settimana Della Cucina Italiana nel Mondo. This year, be among its most avid participants with a feast of dishes by Cesare Battisti, owner and executive chef of Ristorante Ratanà, at Eataly Toronto.
A celebrated Milanese eatery, Ristorante Ratanà is an osteria with a focus on sustainable food culture. In time to toast to this year’s Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, chef Cesare Battisti is taking over the kitchen at Eataly’s Trattoria Milano between November 17 and 19. Serving modern interpretations of traditional Milanese and Lombardian dishes, Battisti is set to wow diners with a range of flavours in Eataly’s most stylish space.
On November 17, diners can partake in an exclusive Taste of Ratanà at Trattoria Milano. The ticketed dining experience features five creative courses along with a cocktail reception, northern Italian wine pairings and the chance to schmooze with chef Battisti himself. On the menu, guests will find Milanese-style veal meatballs, named mondeghili, along with seasonal risotto with roasted pumpkin, n’duja and olive powder, and slow-cooked veal cheek with mashed potatoes and salsa verde.
Social calendar already filling up? Diners will also have a chance to taste chef Battisti’s creations between November 18 and 19. On these dates, each dish will be available à la carte or as part of a five-course progression, as Battisti envisioned they’d be relished.
This year, revel in the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World with some of chef Battisti's most compelling dishes. To reserve your spot for the ticketed dinner, or to book a table at Trattoria Milano, visit the Eataly Toronto website.
