Burgers n' Fries Forever (popularly known as "BFF") started in Ottawa but opened its first Toronto location in 2018 at 182 Ossington Avenue. After two years at their quaint location on the Ossington Strip, the popular burger spot is relocating to 106 John Street in the city's Entertainment District.
The franchise plans to relocate to their new home in December but have yet to announce an official opening date. Jamil Bhuya shared a video on the restaurant's Instagram page showing customers the exterior of the new location and it looks sizeable compared to their previous spot.
The bustling street between Dundas West and Queen West on Ossington is home to so many wonderful restaurants and BFF was definitely a staple where customers could go for an extravagant customizable smash burger. When owner and founder Jamil Bhuya first opened BFF back in 2013, he wanted to showcase food from different cultures and realized he was able to do so using burgers and fries as his canvas. He will continue serving innovative burgers at his new John Street location.
"Our lease was ending at the old location and we wanted to be more central. With rent being more favourable -- due to the pandemic -- we knew it was a fitting time to capitalize on our success so far in the GTA," Jamil tells TasteToronto.
BFF is known for taking care of a diverse set of diners and offers halal, veggie, vegan, and gluten-free options. There is no doubt that customers will follow Jamil and his franchise no matter which neighbourhood BFF is in. The Entertainment District may introduce the growing franchise to an even larger consumer base, attracting foot traffic from shoppers and residents who live further east.
