Tock To Go was started in response to the COVID-19 crisis in order to help ease the transition from dine-in only, to takeout and delivery orders. In particular, the app is targeting fine-dining restaurants who face the greatest hurdle when trying to acclimate to this new dine-out only landscape. The beneficial thing about this platform is there are no third party members demanding a 30% charge from restaurants; the program is essentially being offered for free.
Patrons using the app can book ahead, just as if they were making a reservation. It appears Alo is accepting weekend pickup orders and is announcing a new menu every week or two.
So far, Alo at home has offered short rib bourguignon, seasonal salad, market fresh sashimi, ricotta agnolotti pasta, bread and a chocolate tart; along with cocktail and wine pairings to complete the experience. Cocktails include a gin martini, Manhattan or a margarita for two; already pre-mixed, just waiting to be shaken or stirred. You can also add on an A5 Wagyu beef tartare for $50 if you really feel like splurging. Before beverages, the experience is selling for $65 per person with slots still open for next weekend.
