Scooped by Demetres opens its first location downtown

The popular dessert chain Demetres has just announced the opening of its first ice cream parlour, Scooped by Demetres, in Toronto's Fort York neighbourhood.

As the name implies, Scooped offers Toronto's diners a variety of sweet treats and desserts, all in the form of their artisanal, handcrafted ice creams. As one of Toronto's most popular dessert spots with 11 locations across the GTA, Demetres has made its entrance into a somewhat new, yet familiar world. That world is, of course, the one of ice cream.

Seeing as how the company has made its own ice cream in conjunction with its sweets for over thirty years, it was only natural that they would branch out to introduce a new concept to their business model. And now, after many years of operation, they have finally decided to take this next step by expanding to Fort York's picturesque waterfront area.

“Scooped is our love letter to really good ice creams. It's the flavours that we dream about all day and want to share with you. It's our passion for ice cream, embodied in a scoop, all for you,” the company writes.

Made with love and care, as well as an ultra-rich, high-butterfat, secret-recipe ice cream base, this dessert spot has managed to elevate the ordinary ice cream experience for Toronto's diners.

Offering a ton of new and exciting flavours, Scooped spreads the message that when it comes to desserts, creativity knows no bounds. From their Campfire S'Mores to their Cajeta Swirled Goat Cheese ice cream, the possibilities are endless. And, as an added bonus, the dessert spot offers a variety of vegan options too, such as a Coconut Lime Sorbetto.

At Scooped, ice cream lovers can get their desserts in whatever form they want, whether it's in a cup, a homemade waffle cone, a pint or a five-scoop flight. After all, a common highlight of Demetres is its playful and inventive approach to desserts, not to mention its extensive DIY menus, which are open to any request.

"Scooped allows us to share our most innovative, adventurous and unexpected flavours with Toronto's ice cream lovers. Each flavour is made lovingly with the finest ingredients sourced from around the world. With Chocolates from Belgium, Vanilla from Indonesia, Cajeta from Mexico and Hazelnuts from Italy, the taste is second to none."

You can see it all for yourself this weekend at 113 Fort York Boulevard. Or, if you're patient enough, you can wait for the opening of their second Scooped shop, which is set to open next week at 46 Gristmill Lane in the Distillery District.
