Thanks to a first-of-its-kind collaboration with top Toronto restaurants, Ontarians can now get access to their favourite signature dishes delivered right to their doorstep that can be prepared in under 10 minutes with just a pan and spatula.

Powered by SPATULA, the meal kit service's innovative new frozen marketplace is a one-stop-shop helping local eateries transform and sell their top dishes as flash-frozen meal kits.

From packaging and flash-freezing to storage and delivery, the service works with each restaurant partner to personalize a program that caters to their specific needs. The platform will help drive new sales and incremental revenue without the required upfront capital investment.

Powered by SPATULA kicks off with four diverse, delicious and well-loved Toronto-based partner restaurants:

GIA: Recently featured in the Michelin Guide, the trendy Trinity Bellwoods spot is known for its delectable vegan and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant will add some of its popular plates to the roster — like Porcini Agnolotti with Wild Mushrooms; and Parmesan and Ricotta Gnocchi Pomodoro with Pesto.

Casa Manila: Venturing further east from European cuisine, Casa Manila serves up delicious, authentic Filipino dishes based on healthy, wholesome recipes. Customers can now enjoy the restaurant's classic, regional and colonial dishes at home — some of which include Coconut Ginger Shrimp with Butternut Squash, Long Beans and Jasmine Rice; Beef Kaldereta Tropical Tomato Stew; and Tangy Garlic Chicken Adobo with Long Beans and Jasmine Rice.

Hong Shing: This long-standing community staple is known and loved for its family-style Chinese favourites and has been serving authentic and accessible dishes for OVER 25 years. Hong Shing will add its General Tao Chicken with Green Peppers and Jasmine Rice to the platform's lineup.

Northern Heat Rib Series: Your favourite summer rib fest traditions will now be available year-long from the comfort of your home. The Northern Heat Rib Series is bringing two of its most popular flavours, Louisiana BBQ and Texas Jack's BBQ Pit to the Powered by SPATULA platform.

While these are the partnerships that Powered by SPATULA is kicking off its platform with, customers can expect more signature dishes from their favourite restaurants and quick-service hotpots in the coming months.

SPATULA Foods Co-Founders, Ian Weng, Shela Kwong and Chef Wallace Wong.

"This industry-leading service not only provides access to top restaurant dishes for foodies and families across Ontario, it also supports local businesses,” Ian Weng, co-founder and CEO of SPATULA Foods Inc, said. “The Powered by SPATULA platform offers restaurants the opportunity to maximize kitchen downtime and create incremental revenue that helps to offset the recessionary pressures we’re all feeling. It’s a win-win for everyone."

SPATULA offers over 25 "one-pan" recipes to choose from along with four side dishes and four soups. Meals are available to order weekly via a subscription platform. Each recipe option arrives in a flash-frozen, vacuum-sealed pouch — each containing two generous helpings — starting at $9.98 a plate.
