Ikkousha Ramen Chicken

Ikkousha Ramen, a global Japanese ramen chain famous for their tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen, has just opened up a new shop two doors down from their first store, and this time they're solely focusing on chicken ramen. This is the first location of its kind in Canada but there are 80 other locations around the world.

The Space:

Ikkousha Chicken Ramen

When you first walk into Ikkousha Ramen Chicken, it feels very similar to their first restaurant. Seating is suited for quick access and service, but the overall space is roomier -- with signage clearly calling out their focus on chicken. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, answering any questions you may have about the menu.

The Menu:

Ikkousha Chicken Ramen

The menu mirrors the four styles available at Ikkousha Ramen with ramen bowls ranging from $13-$15. There's an option to add extra toppings such as an onsen egg ($2), black fungus ($1.50), extra green onions ($1.50) and more. Each table comes equipped with a few additional sauces and toppings like pickled ginger and their spicy mustard greens (highly recommended for an additional kick of spice).

You can customize the salt level of your broth from light to normal, as well as the firmness of the noodle, which is based on how long they're cooked for. There is also an option to add extra noodles ($2) with your ramen if you know you'll be slurping down those noodles quickly.

For any ramen lover this new Ikkousha joint is well worth a visit and it's great to see new varieties of ramen popping up across the city.
