Beloved Hong Kong dessert chain opens a second location in Toronto

A dessert chain known for its traditional Hong Kong-style desserts has just opened their second location.

Founded in 1995, Honeymoon Dessert has since expanded from their flagship store in Hong Kong to more than 500 stores worldwide.

Among these stores is their first ever location in Canada, which opened in September of 2020 in Markham. Now, they’ve branched out further east of the city, making this new store in Scarborough their second location in North America.

Located right outside Chartwell Shopping Centre, this newest addition shares the same space with beloved Taiwanese bubble tea brand Kung Fu Tea.

They’re serving up the same things you’d find in Markham with a variety of fruity, cold and hot desserts available.

One of their top sellers is their mango pillows, which consists of fresh mango and vegan cream enveloped in an egg yolk crepe.

In addition to a wide selection of mango desserts, they have an entire section dedicated towards the durian fruit, as well as classic HK-style desserts like sesame and red bean soup with glutinous rice balls and steamed milk pudding.

They’ve also released new menu items for Chinese New Year that are available for a limited time only. These desserts include their milk custard with osmanthus and sweet fermented glutinous rice, and osmanthus brown sugar peach resin taro ball.

Honeymoon Dessert’s Scarborough location is open for takeout and delivery.
