Check out the Parlour’s latest event space and lounge

The Parlour Restaurant Group's newest venture Deer Lady is a cool hideaway on King West, bringing a unique selection of fresh food and cocktails to the city.

Launched in November 2022, The Parlour Restaurant Group’s new concept is an artistic, loft-style venue, and a private event space that also transforms into a late-night cocktail lounge where guests can eat, drink, and enjoy. Deer Lady is located on the second floor at 642 King St. W., right above The Parlour.

The entire concept draws inspiration from a mural on The Parlour Restaurant’s exterior brick wall and Native American mythology, wherein Deer Lady is a feminine spirit, creative force, and fierce guardian. The 2740 square-foot space seats 155 guests, with 16 tables and 20 seats at the bar. All in all, Deer Lady provides a creative, intimate atmosphere with emphasis on music, people, art, and eats.

Of course, incredible food and cocktails are available at Deer Lady. Culinary direction here is overseen by Executive Chef Ejner Christiansen, with a menu that offers a variety of premium nibbles and pecks.

An impressive Caviar Tower features Northern Divine Fraser Valley sturgeon caviar, premium oysters, lobster, ahi tuna lettuce cups, sockeye salmon tartare, jumbo prawns and “those ballz” – baked pizza dough knots tossed in garlic and butter.

The mouth-watering Mini Lobster Rolls delight the palate with the perfect mixture of lobster, celery, lemon, onion, mayo, and Old Bay served on a brioche bun.

The Heirloom Tomato & Burrata – Pizzette will excite pizza fans with its hot honey drizzle and fresh basil topper.

As for cocktails, Beverage Director Michael Arthur oversees the cocktails with innovative and seasonal ingredients. Notably, Suck My Kiss mixes Patrón Reposado tequila, curaçao, lemon juice, demerara, pineapple, and red hot chilli pepper.

Highlights on the cheeky cocktail menu also include Smooth Criminal, which incorporates gekkeikan saké, elderflower, coconut cream, lime, pineapple, and rose water; and The Sure Shot with Angels Envy Bourbon, lemon, honey, ginger, and lavender.

Tableside service offerings include large bottle spirits and bubbles and a selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic options.

“Deer Lady blurs the boundaries between art, community and dining,” says Co-Owner and Designer Chris Holland. “An experience typical to our Parlour Restaurant patrons but perhaps more ceremonious and elevated.”

Table service is available Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. Keep up with Deer Lady on Instagram.
