Cheesemonger teams up with local breweries to offer The Pairing Club

Each week Jeremy Lago, an east end fromager from The Pantry Fine Cheese and his partner, master beer sommelier Justin Spencer, selects six kinds of Canadian cheese from his shop and partners with a local craft brewery to pick out just the right beer for each. The tasting package is delivered to your door, and every Saturday night, Jeremy and Justin go through each pairing in a guided tasting over Zoom.

They call it The Pairing Club. Once held in local breweries, bars and restaurants such as Left Field Brewery and the recently closed I’ll Be Seeing You, The Pairing Club gained a lot of traction. What could be better than eating quality Canadian cheese and enjoying fine craft beer under the guise of education? With COVID-19 making this no longer possible, you can now be part of The Pairing Club from the comfort of your own kitchen.

Deliveries start at $79, which includes six types of cheese and rotating craft beers, which is plenty for two people to share. Delivery is available for folks Downtown Toronto (anyone with a postal code starting with M). The club meets via zoom on Saturday night from 7-9 p.m. where you will be guided through the pairings. Look out for their Valentine’s Day chocolate pairings in partnership with Soul Chocolate and charcuterie pairings with Sanagan’s Meat Locker coming soon.

Reserve your spot on their website for upcoming deliveries. Like one of the cheeses you tasted? They are all available at The Pantry Fine Cheese, located at 1620 Gerrard St. East.
