General Assembly partners with Impossible Foods for innovative plant-based menu

General Assembly Pizza, one of Toronto's most popular spots for customizable wood-fired pizzas, has partnered with Impossible Foods to launch their new Impossible Pizza.

The Toronto pizza joint and brand is popular for their naturally-leavened wood-fired pizza with various customizable toppings. Their Impossible pizza is topped housemade tomato sauce, Impossible meat alternative products made from plants and seasoned with chili, garlic and toasted fennel seeds. They also use fresh Anaheim chilis and thinly shaved white onions to go along with three types of cheese: premium fior di latte, grass-fed mozzarella and grana padano.

“The relationship between GA Pizza and Impossible Foods paves the way for a new wave of menu innovation," says Khaleed Juma, General Assembly's chief marketing officer. "Our pizza people are hungry for flexitarian options that don’t sacrifice quality, nutrition and most importantly, taste, and working with Impossible Foods allows us to continue to pursue our ‘you can have it all’ strategy when it comes to delicious pizza."

The Impossible Pizza will be available at General Assembly's waterfront patio location at Harbourfront Centre's The Slip.

General Assembly's patio is located at The Slip at 235 Queens Quay West. Their patio is open all summer long, Mondays and Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. They're not taking reservations for smaller parties as of yet, so be sure to get there early to snag a spot.
