'Harry and Heels' brings California-style donuts to Toronto

Harry and Heels Donuts is the new spot to visit for classic and fluffy California-style donuts.

Inspired by the flavours surrounding his youth, Shant Mardirosian already brought Toronto some of its most popular spots: the Burgers Priest and the Fourth Man in the Fire Pizzeria––now, he's venturing into the world of sweets with the creation of Harry and Heels.

Find these new donuts by looking through the big glass windows of the Fourth Man in the Fire Pizzeria, as the dining area of this restaurant has been transformed into a donut glazing and decorating space.

Los Angeles has a particular style of donuts that Mardirosian says he couldn't seem to find in Toronto, so he decided to make them himself.

So, what is a California donut?

Mardirosian describes them as, "A big donut. That is super soft and flavourful with classic toppings."

And that they are––these donuts aren't only large in size, but they're also extremely light and fluffy. The focus here is on the texture and flavour of the dough and the simplicity of toppings or fillings only serves to highlight that.

If you're a fan of classic flavours like: Hawaiian Sprinkle, Glazed Cream Filled, Glazed Raspberry Filled, Maple Dip and Glazed Cinnamon Sugar, these donuts were made for you. You can even get your hands on crispy Apple Fritters and donuts like Chocolate Skor Dip, Glazed Oreo and the occasional special-of-the-day donut, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch here. Despite focusing on the classics with a twist, there's much variety to select from, so surely there's an option for everyone.

Harry and Heels is open Wednesday through to Sunday from 12 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. If you don't order ahead for pick-up via their website, you can also find them on Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes via Fourth Man in the Fire––so why not add a pizza to your order too?

Classic donuts paired with classic pizzas, you really can't go wrong here.
