A new tapas and tequila spot is coming to the Annex this spring

Mezcalero is moving into the Annex neighbourhood in early spring, serving up tapas and tequila and featuring a sprawling patio perfect for warmer days.

The food is Spanish-meets-Mexican-street food with a complimentary drink list expertly designed to pair perfectly with the small fusion plates. As the name aptly suggests, Mezcal will be the shining star of the bar, in addition to all the usual tequilas and other spirits found in your favourite cocktails.

Sure to be a spring and summertime staple, the new spot features a raised patio that can fit up to 80 guests, overlooking the bustling Bloor and Bathurst area. Mezcalero is backed by accomplished restaurateur Nick Ndreka, owner of two neighbouring spots, Crafty Coyote and Victory Café.

This is the first tequila bar to make its way to the neighbourhood and promises to provide a space for electric nightlife, events and remarkable meals to share with family and friends. Ndreka has said he hopes this new spot serves as the perfect place to simply celebrate life -- a gathering space for the community to come together and have a good time with even better food and drink.

The 509 Bloor Street West spot doesn’t have an official opening date but keep an eye on their website and Instagram for updates.
