Popular Asian flavoured gelato shop opens new location

One of Toronto's beloved Asian flavoured gelato shops has opened up a second location in the Yonge and Finch neighbourhood. Kekou Gelato originally opened up in 2013 and has since served the city unique desserts with an Asian flair. Their other location is on Queen and Spadina, which does not include a previous store on Baldwin St.

Their Yonge and Finch location will carry 10-12 flavours of pints, gelato, bubble tea and bubble tea floats. The owner, Yik Sin, shared that all of their gelato flavours are made by Kekou. Flavours you can find are HK Milk Tea, Jasmine Tea, Vietnamese Coffee and vegan options like Soursop or Mango. Their bubble teas are freshly steeped with loose leaf tea and all of their syrups are made in-house too. For example, they pride themselves in their hojicha strawberry flavour as it is made with cooked strawberry by Kekou. Some bubble tea flavours to look out for are Rose Milk Honey, Saigon Fog and Thai Tea. They also have a variety of tea lattes that are all steeped with loose leaf.

One item on their menu that can't be missed is their Gelato Floats; you can pair any drink with boba, grass, jelly and a scoop of gelato on top. If you can't get enough of their gelato and bubble tea, you can also pick up their loose leaf teas to take home. You can choose from Gingia Assam, Earl Grey, Rose, Izu Match and much more.

As their Yonge and Finch location opens up, they won't have any pints for sale to take home until June 7. Afterwards, you will be able to pick out your favourite Kekou flavours to enjoy from the comfort of your home. To stay updated with their new location on 5359 Yonge St, follow them on Instagram.
