What better way to spend a day at the beach than by enjoying some high-quality meat and cheese, alongside a beautiful bottle of wine?

The Crave 6ix has just opened their first brick and mortar location in the Beaches, and they are creating gorgeous, hearty charcuterie boxes that will be sure to transport you to paradise.

Owner and founder Vladan Srndovic started the company with his wife back in the Spring of 2020 upon the strike of the pandemic. Srndovic was working in the travel industry, and had forever been infatuated by the idea of having fine wine and cheese at the beach. After realizing he wanted to bring his passion for charcuterie to life, Srndovic knew that starting an online business would be the right place to start.

After a successful first year of selling charcuterie and delivering custom boxes to homes across the GTA, the husband and wife team decided it was time to open up a storefront. When it came to choosing a location, they were confident that the Beaches would make a perfect fit.

“I love the neighbourhood and I really want people to experience being able to pick up a box from us, and then head down to the beach to enjoy the rest of their afternoon or evening,” Srndovic says.

The shop has different kinds of charcuterie, depending on the mood you’re in. If you’re craving breakfast food, their Morning Box comes with croissants, meats and cheeses, jam, yogurt, a savoury dip, and a mix of seasonal fresh fruit, vegetables and macarons. They also offer a Vegan Mood box with a variety of vegan cheeses, seasonal fresh and dried fruits, vegetables, crackers, breads, nuts, dips and sweets.

The boxes range in size, so regardless of how many people you are looking to feed, they will be able to accommodate. For those looking for an individual charcuterie experience, they offer the Avignon Box, complete with crackers, two cheeses, one meat, a mix of seasonal fresh fruit, fresh and pickled vegetables, and a macaron to finish. These are perfect if you’re looking to surprise a special someone with a sweet treat, or for larger companies wanting to send an impressive thank you to their team members.

Though primarily open for takeout and delivery, The Crave 6ix will soon be welcoming guests indoors and on their patio to enjoy their charcuterie and wine in person, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Once permits are finalized, they will be offering a unique selection of local wines, unavailable at the LCBO.

The majority of the shop's products all come from a variety of local food suppliers in the city, including the Cheese Boutique, a number of small Kensington Market grocers, as well as the Ontario Food Terminal Board.

The Crave 6ix is located at 2220A Queen Street East and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Orders for pick-up and free same day delivery (if placed by 11 a.m.) can be placed either in store or online. To find out when they will be opening for dine-in service, be sure to follow them on Instagram, where they will post all their important updates, as well as their new box releases.
