This new takeout operation packs a variety of delicious plant-based eats for Toronto

Vegan Sol is a new culinary venture creating an exciting fusion of flavourful food within the Greater Toronto Area.

Anthony Reid, the chef behind the new vegan venture, was always left unimpressed with vegan food, until he started to experiment recipes of his own. Now, Vegan Sol is delivered across the GTA––what first started out in Durham and York Region has now expanded across Downtown Toronto as well.

Reid shared after noticing some health concerns, he decided to make a conscious change. He said he was aware of the potential health benefits associated with eliminating animal products from his diet, so he wanted to give it a try, but really couldn't imagine eating bland or boring vegan meals. Since he always had a passion for the culinary arts, heavily influenced by his Caribbean roots and living in Europe, he knew this was a challenge he could take on.

After he decided to experiment in the kitchen, he developed transitional dishes that were "colourfully appealing, flavourfully satiating and 100 per cent vegan." He shared this transition with family and friends and many of them loved the variety of dishes that he had created. He quickly realized if he could get meat eaters to crave his dishes, then he knew he was on to something.
