Toronto just got a new French-Korean patisserie

Little Italy is now home to Bonne Nouvelle, a French-Korean patisserie owned and operated by pastry chefs Clara (Soonyoung) and Francis (Kihoon).

This husband and wife duo has taken the space of what used to be Burro Burrito and has completely transformed it to house viennoiseries, Parisian baked goods and exquisite little cakes and tarts.

With experience by both chefs working at notable restaurants and patisseries in Paris, including Cafe Pouchkine, Hotel Fouquet, La Liste and Patisserie Gilles, you can expect a variety of Parisian treats, with some that are Korean inspired.

These items include their buttery and flaky croissant infused with a touch of soy sauce to give it that umami taste, different flavours of Korean inspired canelés and madeleines including dalgona, yuzu and Korean mugwort and more.

They also have fun travel cakes that masquerade as fruits. The ones that are currently available are lemon and banana.

Walk-ins are available on Thursdays at noon but only for their croissants, and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for their other products. Online pre-orders are highly recommended as they tend to sell out quickly.

Bonne Nouvelle is located at 655 College St.
