A mochi donut pop-up shop just opened on College Street

Hachi Mochi Donuts just opened their pop-up shop on College Street in Little Italy and it is the new must try dessert in town. Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, which is a short grain glutinous rice. It is pounded into a paste and used for various desserts including mochi donuts.

Mochi donuts are soft and airy with a slight chew and of course, a mochi-like texture. The Toronto pop-up shop opened on June 12 and is offering delivery on Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes, as well as for pickup on Ritual.

Hachi's mochi donuts come in fun flavours like cinnamon sugar, cookies and cream, strawberry Pocky, mango with toasted coconut, matcha and white chocolate, cherry chocolate drizzle and dark chocolate. The shop rotates flavours weekly so keep an eye out for new innovative creations!

It is unclear how long the pop-up shop will remain open so if you are yet to try Hachi Mochi you can head to 656 College Street to check them out.
