A night market showcasing Asian-led and owned businesses is coming to Toronto

Stackt Market is hosting a one-night-only outdoor Asian Heritage Night Market this Friday, May 28. The official start to the first of many monthly night markets for Stackt, this Friday, they'll be showcasing Asian-led and owned businesses from all over Toronto in honour of Asian Heritage Month.

Amongst a long list of vendors that vary in their offerings of food and other essential goods, you'll find some of the city's favourite pop-up shops and small home businesses. Releasing a few shop names every day, the current lineup features: Chachalate, Make Kwento, Mama Joos Hot Sauce, Saigon Drip, Tong Mein, Fersk Self Care, Marathon Café, Joybird, Cuchara, Lao Food Co., Oishi Box, Soft Dough Co., Magic Oven, FeasTO, Caviar Citizen and Bean+Peal.

Many shops are offering the opportunity for those who plan on attending the market to order their goods in advance via their own Instagram or website to minimize lineups and crowding.

In adherence to strict COVID-19 regulations, guests are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing at the market. In addition, all food items purchased are being offered as takeout items as Stackt requests that guests don't remain onsite to enjoy their meals or the other food items they may purchase.

Attendees can look forward to roaming around and exploring the different shops present accompanied by music from ISO Radio, a non-profit community-led music discovery platform with roots in Toronto.

Making the evening even more impactful, a percentage of table fees collected from each vendor will be donated to Collective Society 360, a not-for-profit mentorship program that works towards building career and entrepreneurial development skills for BIPOC youth.

If you can't make it on Friday, keep in mind that Stackt holds outdoor grocery and food markets on Thursdays from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. featuring local vendors. You can also follow them on Instagram to keep an eye out for other night market pop-ups in the future.

The Asian Heritage Night Market is happening outdoors this Friday, May 28, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Canada's largest shipping container market -- Stackt Market, located at 28 Bathurst Street. Be sure to show up with an empty stomach and get ready to discover and support new Asian-owned and led businesses in the GTA.
