Blondies Pizza opening up a new pizzeria on Parliament

Blondies Pizza is rapidly taking over the GTA (and we're not angry); whenever I'm in my condo elevator and I see someone holding the distinct bright pink and white polka-dot pizza box, I know they're in for a good night. Their newest location is popping up on 419 Parliament Street, and if everything sticks to plan, they are slated to open on Friday, February 18; Cabbagetown and Regent Park pizza lovers rejoice!

If you're unfamiliar with the brand, Blondies is a Toronto-based pizza chain started by chef Matt Blondin of The Food Dudes, who developed the chemistry behind Blondies' perfect pies. They have their eye-catching neon pink locations in Leslieville, Ossington, Davenport, the Junction, Port Credit, Oakville and now Parliament is the 7th restaurant under the Blondies roster.

We've all noticed the shortages in different foods and supplies, and many restaurants are struggling to cope with supply issues (even things like cardboard for pizza boxes). Currently, Blondies' second oven at the Parliament location won't be arriving until March, so they're going to quietly soft-launch the opening with the single oven until the second arrives.

The Parliament Blondies opening is coinciding with the release of four new pizzas; if you're familiar with the brand, you'll know that their menu is consistent throughout the chain with their six red-sauce and six blonde pizzas (along with the normal classics and customizable offerings). They've been working on these recipes behind the scene for the past few months, so get ready for brand new flavours as well.

Other things in the Blondies world to look out for, their massive patio in Oakville will be set to open this spring (the only Blondies location that has a dine-in option). They finally received their liquor license in September so get ready for a full bar and a more extensive menu (Oakville Blondies also has pasta, appetizers and the other trappings of a full-service pizza restaurant, Blondies super-fans need to go!). The Junction location will also have a "seat yourself" patio opening this spring.

Blondies expansion is not slowing down! In the coming year, keep your eyes open in North York to see if the iconic pink Blondies sign pops up in your neighbourhood. Blondies is also going international, with a Blondies South Florida in the works (so fret not, Ontario snowbirds, you'll be able to get your Blondies fix year-round).
