Blood Brothers Brewing announces exciting new kitchen partner

One of Toronto's great eats is taking over the kitchen at a craft microbrewery, taproom and restaurant.

Blood Brothers Brewing, founded in 2016 by Dustin and Brayden Jones, is home to some of the most thirst-quenching and unique craft beer. Led by chefs Scott Vivian and Nathan Middleton, Beast, which is closed for renovations, is a Canadian-style restaurant with a farm-to-table focus. Together, the duo plans to offer a memorable experience with delicious beer and wicked food.

The partnership is slated to kickoff in the New Year, with a special New Year's Day menu already in the works.

After speaking with chef Vivian, the menu will be comprised of a mix of small plates and sandwiches. The goal is to create, as chef Vivian said, "A fun menu that is approachable and exciting." Featuring eight items and a daily special, the menu at Blood Brothers is a collaboration between the two chefs, taking on some of the greatest hits from Beast while incorporating some of chef Middleton's classic dishes. The daily specials are set to change indicative of the time of year and the food program will stick very close to Beast's philosophy of seasonal and local ingredients.

After the first shutdown, Blood Brothers' in-house chef stepped down and looked for work elsewhere. The unfortunate events took a fortunate turn when the team at Momofuku, a noodle bar adjacent to the Shangri-La Hotel, connected with the brewery. The noodle bar became responsible for running Blood Brothers kitchen from summer to fall of 2021. As the partnership comes to a close, Blood Brothers and Beast are eager and excited to get their flavours off the ground. As Dustin writes, "We will be producing a lot less beer at Geary, allowing us to change the flow of the space, create more seating and offer a better dining experience for our patrons."

Something to look forward to, customers can get their hands on the new menu items beginning in January, 2022. Blood Brothers Brewing is located at 165 Geary Ave. The restaurant does not take reservations and functions on a first come, first served basis. The retail space is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., the bar from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and the kitchen from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
