Box'd paves the way as Canada's first fully automated restaurant

Paramount Fine Foods, a Middle Eastern food giant, is revolutionizing the way we order and pickup food with their new concept Box'd -- a fully automated restaurant that helps Canadians feel safe and comfortable when dining out.

As we move towards a post COVID-19 world, it is apparent that the food industry will have to transform and adapt to the new health and safety measures put in place. Box'd by Paramount is paving the way for a new generation of dining with their innovative fully-automated takeaway concept.

"We understand that people may still be a little wary of public places, so we have created a dining option that is fast, efficient and safe,” says CEO of Paramount Mohamed Fakih in a release.

Box'd was created with health, simplicity and efficiency in mind. Featuring simplified Middle Eastern cuisine with an innovative spin using new flavours and ingredients from Chef Tomer Markovitz, the menu includes Paramount's world famous hummus, hearty salads, Box'd hot dishes, oven-baked wraps and real-fruit smoothies, with a multitude of vegetarian and vegan options.

For your peace of mind, each Box'd meal is prepared to order by one individual chef from start to finish, in order to minimize food handling and ensure safety. Each Box'd meal is prepared using the freshest ingredients and highest quality proteins and is packaged in sustainable takeout boxes.

Orders are placed and paid for in advance on the Paramount mobile app, on their website, or using the in-store digital kiosk. Orders are then delivered to individual digital cubbies that are sanitized between use. Digital status boards in the restaurant and mobile notifications will update guests when their food is ready and lead them to their designated pick-up cubby.

“The state-of-the-art technology used throughout Box’d will revolutionize and transform how consumers experience dining on-the-go and will help our guests feel safe,” says Chef Markovitz. “With one chef per meal, all meals are sealed and delivered to sanitized, individual cubbies which simplifies the process and keeps cleanliness and safety top of mind.”

Box'd contactless and fully automated takeout service is the future of dining, as we prepare for a post-pandemic world. Ahmed Daify, the Box’d franchisee for Paramount Fine Foods says that “being fully automated means Box’d can offer Canadians a new and exciting ‘smart’ way to experience eating out safely”.

Box'd is located at 4 King Street West and will be opening this month.
