Canada's first 'Smart Kitchen' concept is launching in Toronto next month

Toronto's Naan & Kabob premium quick serve Afghan restaurant announces the launch of Cubby Smart Kitchen, an innovative self-serve concept in Toronto's Moss Park neighbourhood, on October 2, 2020.

Developed by Fahim Ahmadi and Jay Yordi of the Naan & Kabob Group, who owns and operates five namesake Naan & Kabob locations across the GTA and Burlington's popular Charcoal Pit fast-food restaurant, Cubby Smart Kitchen is Canada's first-ever fully automated self-serve "cubby" system.

"The significant and continuing shift to delivery services has created a unique opportunity for the convergence of self-service automation and our innovative, new smart kitchen concept," says Jay Yordi, Cubby's CEO.

Cubby Smart Kitchen will offer customers five restaurant brands to choose from, each with a unique, globally inspired menu. The brands include Naan & Kabob, Caasa Afghan Bowl, Charcoal Pit, Kai Poke and Hookt Seafood.

From kabobs, poke bowls and smoothie bowls, to burgers and even vegan and vegetarian options, these five unique brands bring vibrant flavours and diverse cuisines all under one roof. Using only the highest quality ingredients, halal meats and locally sourced produce, each order is prepared fresh by a team of culinary experts on-site, led by Executive Chef Cherika D'Caul.

Simply place your order using the contactless self-serve kiosks and head to your assigned order cubby to pick up once it's ready.

"Our self-serve order kiosks and food cubbies make the entire experience easy, seamless and fun," says Fahim Ahmadi.

Cubby Smart Kitchen is located at 106 Queen St East and is open to the public starting October 2.
