Misty Restaurant & Bar is Toronto's latest cocktail bar that features an expansive menu of great food and refreshing beverages.

Misty has an "approachable cocktail bar" concept. In other words, the founders wanted to create a menu that wasn't full of expensive cocktails, while still maintaining the same flavours and quality. With that being said, each drink contains at least 2 oz of liquor and is topped with garnishes such as orchid flowers, hibiscus flowers, fresh basil leaves, and so on.

With a menu that consists of unique cocktails, seafood pappardelle, crispy coconut shrimp, sliders, New Zealand lamb racks and much more, Misty is not a spot that you want to miss out on.

With a lack of cocktail bars on Queen Street that pay an equal amount of attention to their food, Misty wanted to create a menu with both delicious drinks and dishes. The cocktail bar inspiration came from one of their owners and founders, Maggie. With an educational background from George Brown College School of Hospitality Management and a WSET diploma, it was her dream to open an amazing bar in Toronto. Maggie was the creator of many of their signature cocktails, including the Misty Dream, Hibiscus Blush, First Crush and Ocean 490.

Once Misty became established at their Queen West location and they brought on Eric Y. Wang as their general manager, the European food concept came to life. Wang also received his education from the George Brown hospitality management program, as well as the culinary arts program. Growing up in Lyon France, Wang has always had a strong connection with French cuisine. In the past, he had worked at Rosalinda and Peter Pan Bistro.

For Misty, Wang invented a menu with French-inspired dishes full of balanced and healthy ingredients, as well as a few vegan dishes, such as the crispy black bean tacos and mushroom rigatoni. Their menu was then further elevated after the brought on their chefs Simran Sarah and Cristian Sosa.

Future plans include expanding their wine list by introducing some fun and funky local and international wines that cannot be found at the LCBO. Additionally, they will be introducing weekend brunches after Labour Day weekend. On a long-term scale, they want to make Misty more well-known and build multiple locations.

As you may have figured, there are many reasons why Misty should be at the top of your must-visit list this weekend, and one additional reason is that Misty is serving up $1.50 per shuck of oysters all summer long.

Misty is located at 490 Queen Street West and is open Sunday to Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
