Daniel's Chai Bar reopens at Bramalea after three-year hiatus

Daniel's Chai Bar has officially reopened at Bramalea City Centre after taking a break back in 2018 (formerly known as T by Daniel). Now, owner Daniel Lewis is looking forward to bringing his luxurious blend of premium black tea back to his community in Brampton.

Lion's chai is spiced with cinnamon, cardamom and cloves to create a "ferocious" tasting chai. It's lactose-free, non-gmo and gluten-free.  Lewis, an ITEI Certified Tea Master Sommelier, who calls himself a Tea Jedi, believes that business can be used as a force for good.

"Daniel's Chai Bar is not a tea business. It’s a valuing-people business. This is our why. The product could have been anything however, tea happened to be a great choice because it actually brings people together in a very special way. This is merely a bonus to our why and the reason we wake up super motivated every single day," says Lewis.

Currently customers can grab a 12 oz cup by stopping by at the Chai Bar. Previously their chai bar loyalists and tea fan loved their cold (frappe-like) version of the Lion Chai which was called The Arctic Lion Chai. This will be reintroduced back to the menu in 2022. You can also purchase 14 oz packages if the Lion Chai in-store or online at their website.

Lewis shared the Arctic Lion can be made at home as well by adding three to four tablespoons of the Lion Chai powder to a blender, one cup of milk or milk alternative and one cup of ice. Blend until rich, smooth texture and enjoy!

What is unique about the Lion Chai is you don't need any milk or sweetener to prepare it. Lewis says it contains a lactose-free coconut creamer and cane sugar in the mix, so for those who purchase a bag for home you can simply add two tablespoons of the chai powder to a cup, then add boiling water and stir for a smooth, silky, lactose-free chai latte.

The chai bar is located inside inside Bramalea City Centre Mall, through the Goodlife Fitness Entrance––next to Koodo kiosk, Second Cup and Booster Juice.
