The Distillery District just got a new spot for pizza

The Distillery District has just got a new addition to the neighbourhood: District Pizza, the Distillery Restaurants Corp.'s very own pizza joint.

They're serving up four types of pies available in two sizes (13- or 16-inch), as well as sous vide wings and dipping sauces made in-house.

While their pizzas are baked in an electric oven, they'll still taste like they came straight out of a traditional wood-fired oven due to their dough recipe. Their dough is fermented for two days to let it fully hydrate and increase its sourness, resulting in a beautifully blistered and chewy crust.

Given rather creative names, pies include their simpler Yawn pizza that's topped with fior di latte, basil and organic tomatoes, and You Get What You Get with loads of ezzo pepperoni and virgin mozzarella.

More complex pies include Shout At The Devil that's topped with house spicy chorizo, rapini, pickled habaneros, pecorino picante and romesco sauce containing hazelnuts and almonds, and Go Ask Alice, a mushroom pizza featuring roasted shiitake mushrooms, pickled beech mushrooms, burnt leeks, duxelles and truffled boschetto cheese.

Your meal isn't complete until you've had their fall off the bone, antibiotic and hormone-free chicken wings. They're brined in sugar and salt and come in four flavours. Choose from their homemade Spicy Korean BBQ, Honey and Roast Garlic, BBQ Magic and Spicy Jerk.

District Pizza is located at 32 Gristmill Lane and is open for takeout and delivery.
