Popular Toronto deep-dish pizza spot closes two locations

If you're looking for some deep-dish pizza in Toronto and you're accustomed to visiting Double D's on Dundas West, or their location in Leslieville, you may be out of luck.

The Chicago-style pizza spot used to operate three locations -- with options at either end of the city to accommodate everyone's deep-dish cravings -- but have shuttered their doors on two of their locations, the Gerrard Street outpost being the most recent to close.

According to a manager at the Gerrard location, they had always planned to sell the Leslieville restaurant and relocate further west but because of timing and other complications, it didn't quite work out that way.

Double D's

No need to fret if you're located in Etobicoke though since their last remaining location resides in the neighbourhood and is still serving up Toronto's deep-dish favourites. It might just mean people in central downtown or east of the city may have to commute a bit longer for their 'za.

Double D's

Double D's serves up a variety of deep-dish pizzas such as the Chicago Classic with pepperoni and Italian sausage, the Meat Lover's and, of course, a vegetarian option; as well as some out-of-the-box creations like Jalapeño Blue and Hawaiian Punch.

Find them at 2888 Lake Shore Blvd West, Etobicoke.
