Just when you thought fried chicken couldn’t get any better, the team at Paris Paris has debuted Poulette, a new takeout and delivery concept that’s adding sparkling wine to an already-delicious equation.

Known for their energetic, unpretentious approach to curated fine wines, this latest endeavour by Paris Paris promises the same quality of drinks, food, and edgy design, but with the added component of finding simple joys amidst COVID restraints.

“Poulette started because I wanted to do something different and fun during the lockdown,” says Jonathan Poon, co-owner of Paris Paris.

“While my restaurants -- Superpoint Pizza and Favorites Thai -- are very takeout/delivery/pandemic-friendly, Paris Paris has never geared towards that style of service. I wanted to do something more casual that still showcased our incredible wines. What’s more fun than champagne and fried chicken?”

Since closing their indoor dining space back in December, Paris Paris has been offering a large but meticulous selection of natural fine wines through Club Paris, a bottle shop curated by their sommelier Krysta Oben (Grape Witches).

At Poulette, you’ll find a more manageable range of sparkling wines to easily complement all your stay-in fried chicken occasions, from a 200mL Cordoniu Clasico Brut Cava for $10 to a 750mL Ulysse Collin Les Pierrières for $290.

Putting the same level of expertise into their food, every piece of fried chicken at Poulette is brined for 24 hours and soaked in buttermilk to preserve its juiciness. They’re also freshly made to order without par-frying or pre-breading, creating that perfect crisp every time.

Enjoy your fried chicken combo with pickles, ranch dip and choice of sides, or in a potato roll sandwich with Poulette sauce.

Staying true to fun vibes, the sides at Poulette are a range of feel-good classics, including crinkle cut fries, coleslaw with Kewpie mayo, corn bread with whipped honey butter, mashed potatoes with house-made chicken gravy, adorable smiley potato fries, and “Super” onion rings with umami salt.

Sealed with that signature Paris Paris cheekiness, all Poulette items are to be eaten straight out of their fun pizza boxes.

Combining easy, tasty food with quality wines and good vibes, Poulette has a straight-shooting philosophy to help brighten up our days at home.

“For a concept born out of a pandemic lockdown, I think it’s only appropriate that the philosophy be YOLO! Enjoy yourself, have fun, eat well, drink well.”

Currently operating out of Paris Paris on 146 Ossington Avenue, Poulette is available for takeout and delivery through Ambassador, Uber Eats, and DoorDash. They're open Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 12p.m. to 8:30p.m.
