Grape Crush releases new Winter beverages including red wine hot chocolate

After the great success of their Frosé-filled Summer, Grape Crush has some exciting new tricks up their sleeve for these cozy Fall-Winter days. Introducing their new Red Wine Hot Chocolate and Mulled Wine, to go!

The combination of red wine and chocolate is of course nothing new, and so bringing these two flavourful delights together to fabricate a beverage, is a genius idea brought about by the Grape Crush team.

“It was a collective brainstorm to think of fun ways to have wine to-go in the Winter. Mulled wine is awesome, and everyone knows it, but red wine hot chocolate just seemed like it could also work too," says Jane Dunlop, general manager at Grape Crush.

The Red Wine Hot Chocolate tastes reminiscent of biting into a red velvet cupcake. It’s made with Earth’s Own Oat Milk, water, sugar, cocoa powder and Clarisa Red Wine, one of their collaborations with Traynor Family Vineyard.

“Clarisa is a really juicy, dark red wine blend, with red fruit and nice bit of acidity, so it doesn’t get too lost in the hot chocolate. It’s made of Chardonnay, Merlot and Riesling.”

The Mulled Wine is also made using Clarisa, but with the addition of their top-secret cider spice syrup, featured in a couple of their other cocktails.

“The blend just gives it that extra spicy little kick to add to your wine, that just feels extra warm and cozy," says Dunlop.

Served either dine-in, or to-go, both of these boozy Winter drinks are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, batched daily in-house and make the perfect addition to your afternoon of window shopping on Dundas West or strolling through Trinity Bellwoods.

If you’re feeling peckish, you can also grab some eats courtesy of Flora’s Deli, who recently took over the kitchen space. Stay tuned for more details on their exciting new Sunday Brunch collaboration with the Grape Crush team, which will kick-off in early November.
