Haven Plant-Based Eatery to open in the Annex this month

More and more meatless eateries are popping up in Toronto, so vegans, vegetarians and curious meat-eaters alike have options galore for scoring delicious, plant-based meals.

Toronto's newest plant-based joint, Haven, is set to open up this month in the Annex. Situated on a prime block of Bloor Street just west of Spadina, this spot is replacing what was formerly Greek & Co. and before that, Bang Bang Burrito. Considering the number of fast-casual restaurants that have been in this location, hopefully a fresh, plant-based spin on things will succeed in serving today's Torontonians who are on the hunt for more conscious food choices.

Although they haven't yet announced an exact opening date, staff have been seen going in and out of the restaurant, working hard to prepare for the launch. The menu is still a mystery, too, but it will be Asian-inspired and promotional images suggest that they will be offering substantial meat alternative options that mock the taste and texture coveted by many. Their website shows images of noodles and soups filled with what look like pieces of beef and shrimp, but are of course their plant-based counterparts.

Stay tuned and follow Haven on Instagram to keep up with news on their grand opening!
