Internationally-acclaimed Farzi Cafe by MasterChef India judge opens location near Toronto

A Michelin-recognized culinary group, Massive Restaurants, has opened Canada's first ever Farzi Café––an Indian contemporary bistro that focuses on bringing a gourmet experience.

This new Canadian location is based on the award-winning London locations to create a chic, whimsical cafe with a modern twist. Farzi Café has 19 locations around the world, including England, the United Arab Emirates, India and now, Canada. This location has opened at Square One shopping centre's "Food District", which will include an indoor dining room, a bar and a large outdoor patio space.

Zorawar Kalra, known as a MasterChef India judge and winner of the 2017 Restaurateur Award from India’s GQ Men of the Year Awards, is one of the founders of Massive Restaurants Group. Kalra is proclaimed as the “Prince of Indian Cuisine” for showcasing the evolution of Indian cuisine to the rest of the world.

“As we venture into North America for the first time ever, I am so excited to bring Farzi Café to the Canadian market and to continue Farzification worldwide,” said Kalra. “We are ready to reignite a love for Indian food within Canada as we modernize and bring the element of surprise to every dish and cocktail.”

Farzi Café creates fusion and unique dishes that utilizes Ayurvedic Indian flavours with a hint of global influences. Farzi Café is known for creating culinary illusions with elements such as foam, smoke and bubbles that provides guests with a memorable experience.

"Farzi Café takes guests on an experiential journey where flavour meets the alchemy of modern presentations and cooking techniques of molecular gastronomy that will absorb the guest into the ultimate gastronomic illusion," he added.

At Farzi, you can also find a unique cocktail menu that was created by multi-award-winning mixologist Din Jusuf as well. Each cocktail is named after zodiac signs, which has quickly found popularity over TikTok.

Canada’s first Farzi Café is now open at Square One, located at 100 City Centre Drive in Mississauga.
