Local celebrity chef Noel Cunningham just opened his first spot in Toronto, Cuisine by Noel, operating out of FreePlay Arcade at 300 College Street.

Having just opened this past Tuesday, January 5, chef Noel is offering a menu filled with authentic Jamaican food with a modern flair. You can find some unique items like Oxtail Poutine, Island Fried Chicken and Waffles and Peppered Shrimp pasta. Each day he is trying to do something new and different.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, chef Noel has experience throughout Canada and the US, having been voted Best Chef in Winnipeg in 2018 and has worked for top restaurants like the James Beard House in New York City. In 2020, Chef Cunningham was voted the Best Black Chef in Canada by ByBlacks People's Choice Awards. After writing a best-selling cookbook, "Cuisine By Noel: A Culinary Journey Through Recipes & Stories," and appearing on several TV programs, he ran his own catering company before opening the new spot in Toronto.

"I'm happy to have this space where people can savour my style of cooking and cuisine from back home," Noel tells TasteToronto. Be sure to check out Cuisine by Noel at 300 College Street. They are available for takeout and delivery through Uber Eats.
