McDonald's Shamrock Shake returns to Toronto

Toronto just got a little luckier with the return of McDonald’s Canada’s creamy, dreamy and minty Shamrock Shake. Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, you can enjoy this seasonal green drink available only until March 23.

The triple thick milkshake consists of McDonald’s creamy vanilla soft serve blended with their signature Shamrock Shake syrup to give it that minty flavour. Available in three sizes starting at $3.39 for a small, an additional 50 cents for a medium and an extra 90 cents for a large, it’s the perfect drink to refresh your taste buds.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Shamrock Shake, which made its first appearance back in 1970 at select locations in the United States. The shake was first created by a McDonald’s owner and operator in Connecticut, Hal Rosen, back in 1967. Rosen decided to make it in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, which evidently explains the shake’s green colour. Fast forward 50 years later, and this iconic drink is still a huge hit.

Although McDonald’s isn’t offering their new Oreo Shamrock McFlurry in Canada -- unlike the United States -- fans are still able to try their other popular seasonal item, the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry.

Cadbury Creme Egg Mcflurry

Here for a limited time only until April 21, the McFlurry features their vanilla soft serve mixed with milk chocolate pieces and the gooey filling in the center of a Cadbury Creme Egg. Now if this doesn’t scream Easter, we don’t know what else does.

With both holidays coming up, you might just have to treat yourself to one of these irresistibly delicious sweet treats.
