Mega fried chicken chain launches a new fish sandwich

A year after Popeyes Chicken, a multinational fried chicken conglomerate, launched their version of a Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, they're hoping to go viral again with their new fish sandwich.

After quietly launching in stores across the U.S. last month, it started generating quite the buzz amongst fans and celebrities alike across the nation. Though not with the same fervor as the fried chicken sandwich, it still has glowing reviews from our neighbours in the south.

The fish sandwich itself is being advertised as the Cajun Flounder Sandwich here in Toronto. With a surprisingly light and flakey fish battered and deep-fried in the classic Popeyes batter. It's seasoned with the classic Cajun blend of Louisiana spices and served in a buttered brioche bun with thick slices of sweet pickles, similar to its fried chicken sandwich counterpart. It also gets a healthy slathering of tartar sauce to boot.

Unlike the fried chicken sandwich, the fish sandwich arrived relatively quickly to Canadian markets. You can find the new Cajun Flounder Sandwich at select stores across Toronto and the GTA. It's not readily available through third-party apps just yet, so you'll have to walk into the store to order. Be sure to call ahead to ensure your location even has it because it is limited now.
