New French-inspired creperie opens in Toronto

Sofia Reshetnikova has always loved crepes, since they were delicious and easy to eat on the go. Because crepes are one of those foods that can be made with various types of fillings, Reshetnikova knew it would adaptable for breakfast, dessert and even dinner. This prompted her to open up a crepe cafe in Toronto called SAVA Crepes & Coffee.

What is unique at SAVA is their devotion to making Buckwhat crepes. The organic flour is ordered from Quebec and creates a crispy and salty shell that goes well with their savoury crepes. You can choose from Ham & Brie made with honey, a Veggie Lover made with brie, avocado, grilled pepper, capers, spinach and pesto, Salmon & Cream Cheese made with smoked salmon, whipped cream cheese, shallot, capers, dill and many more.

Reshetnikova recommends the Salted Caramel Crepe with Biscoff Cookies, as that is her favourite. There's also other sweet crepes like their Blueberry Forest made with fresh blueberries, whipped cream cheese and a blueberry compote. Or if you like Nutella, there is always the Banana, Strawberry and Nutella crepe to choose from. At SAVA Crepes & Coffee you will also find espresso drinks, premium teas, lattes and iced drinks that they serve in cups imported from England. They carry seasonal drinks too, which is currently hot chocolate and apple cider.

Reshetnikova shared that the cafe is doing quite well since their grand opening on Dec. 6, which brought a lot of new customers to try out their signature buckwheat crepes.

"[The] team is new so it’s a bit of a learning process for everyone but overall we got what we expected," Reshetnikova said.

SAVA Crepes & Coffee is located at 2674 Yonge Street in Toronto.
