North of Brooklyn pizzeria opens new location in the east end

North of Brooklyn pizzeria is heading east with the opening of a new location at the corner of Danforth and Greenwood.

Established by Josh Spatz and Alex Potter in 2012, this popular post slinging NY-style pies currently has five other locations across the city, primarily in the West end -- the new Greenwood location will be their first on the other side of the Don River.

Their menu focuses on sheet-thin pies and airy crusts (perfect for folding) topped with anything from Brooklyn pepperoni, calabrese sausage and double smoked bacon to arugula, kale and truffle cream. Their sesame crusted pepperoni pizza is definitely a crowd-favourite.

They also have a Puttanesca pizza featuring hand-crushed puttanesca sauce made with anchovies and topped with mozzarella, taggiasca and gordal olives, scallions, grana padano and olive oil. For our veggie lovers the Truffle Shuffle is decked out with mozzarella and smoked cheddar, cremini mushrooms, caramelized onions, chives, lemon zest and their delicious truffle cream sauce.

Although an official opening date has not yet been announced, the popular Brooklyn-style pizzeria will be located at 663 Greenwood Ave.
