If you're a gelato aficionado craving a taste reminiscent of summer, or, maybe gelato is your––or your partner's––love language, then good news, On Third Thought is dropping a limited-time Valentine's Day menu this week only. That means you can get allergen-friendly, mouthwatering pints gelato delivered to your door!
If you haven't already tried their gelato or visited their patio during the warmer months, then get ready, because On Third Thought is about to become your sweet-tooth safe haven in 2022.
In the summer of 2019, On Third Thought owners Jade and Joey wanted to create a "one-stop treat that people wouldn't have to think twice about." They started out with their gelato cart, serving up scoops of their signature gelato at weddings, parties and other events across the GTA.
The best part? All of On Third Thought's gelatos are vegan, and are always free of gluten, nuts, soy, eggs and sesame, making them a safe dessert option for many, which is an important factor at events with several guests in attendance; Jade and Joey strived to create a product and business that was inclusive for all so that guests could focus on having fun at events and not have to worry about their limitations or allergies when reaching for a scoop.
All of their gelatos are unique, delicious, crafted with love and have been adored by the masses since they first started serving scoops nearly three years ago.
In 2020, Covid-19 canceled most events they had lined up, so Jade and Joey opted to switch over to offering pre-orders and delivering gelato to customers' doorsteps until they could return to using their cart at events. It wasn't long before pints of their product were being requested all around Toronto and from outside of the GTA, too.
"Our drops became so huge we had to do them every week. We had friends and family helping us with the deliveries because we were getting orders as far as Hamilton and Barrie," Jade shared. "The enthusiasm was overwhelming."
Due to the demand for gelato deliveries being incredible, along with their rapidly growing customer base, Jade and Joey decided that opening a takeout spot in a permanent location was the best way to grow their business in a way where it could still thrive during unprecedented times.
So, On Third Thought did exactly that, and continues to thrive today. Jade and Joey have managed to convert their small shop, located just a few minutes away from Trinity Bellwoods Park, into a vibrant neighbourhood gem. Throughout the past year, they've concocted an impressive array of rotational flavours––some classic, and many unexpected––they even have cocktail-inspired (19+) boozy gelatos, which are a huge hit during the peak of summer. They also offer several cocktails, wines and espresso-based drinks, many of which pair nicely with a side of gelato, or, combined with it.
When you visit On Third Thought during their regular operating season, you'll be able to grab a seat on their patio and enjoy some tunes, or, opt to take your treats to-go. Pints are available if you'd rather enjoy your gelato at home and on special occasions, such as this upcoming Valentine's Day, pre-orders and delivery are available for a limited time. That means if you're looking for a romantic, sweet treat this weekend––whether it's for yourself or to share––you can order from On Third Thought now.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 7, five different––and equally decadent––flavours of gelato will be available for pre-order and free GTA delivery this weekend.
Pints of these flavours will also be available for in-store pickup while supplies last, from Feb. 11 to 14, and hot drinks will also be available to-go.
Valentine's Day flavours include Spicy Mango Sorbet, Chocolate, Chocolate and Vanilla Strawberry, Mint Chip and Strawberry Daquiri (19+). Jade noted that there will be a few optional add-ons available for Valentine's Day orders, including a selection of curated wines from Tre Amici that are "paired by Lauren Power [Toronto wine tasting and pairing expert] based on how the flavours interact with the gelato," as well as Chachalate Chocolate Bars, which are a rich and indulgent locally-made treat, and finally, a rose stem. Pre-orders close on Feb. 10 at 11:59 p.m.

And, new for 2022, On Third Thought will be hosting events during the summer months, such as patio karaoke, live music, trivia nights, wine tastings, and educational sessions with Lauren of Tre Amici.
