Otto's Bierhalle launches takeout BBQ packs

Though they've remained closed and fairly quiet throughout the pandemic, Otto's Bierhalle announced their reopening for takeout a couple of weeks ago and have been expanding their offerings to happy customers across the city ever since.

The popular (and usually bustling) German food and beer spot returned recently with a bottle shop and a few different feasts for hungry guests to bring home and feed a crowd.

All of their goodies have been available for pickup and delivery on Fridays and Saturdays between 4-8 p.m., just in time for weekend snacking, summer celebrations and cottage trips.

Last week, the restaurant launched Otto's BBQ At Home Packs, which offer a family-style meal all set to feed four people with minimal prep. The meat-heavy packs include a full flattened spatchcock chicken marinated in a juicy mixture of lemon, garlic and fresh thyme, as well as a pound of Miami-style ribs doused in rosemary and honey mustard sauce. Of course, it wouldn't be Otto's without some classic German fare, so they also throw in 1 hot Kransky, 2 Bratwurst and 1 Macedonian sausage, complete with a delicious currywurst sauce and mustard. All you have to do is bring the meat home to cook on the grill, then prep up your favourite accompaniments and grab some beers to sip on! The perfect summer dinner for $39.95.

Otto's just became available on DoorDash, so you can dig into their sandwiches, meats, sides and BBQ packs and get them delivered straight to your door. Their feasts, which include meats (or Beyond Meat sausages), Ontario asparagus, red potato salad, a vinegary slaw and assorted pickled vegetables, feed multiple people and are also available through the app. Additionally, you can order all of these meals (along with your booze of choice) quickly and easily directly through their website, so fire up the grill, grab a few pals and get cooking!
